Beginning of school year in PYP

By Alfonso Maldonado,
CISS Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher and PYP Coordinator.

A new school year starts and our students were warmly
welcomed by their teachers
after their well deserved summer
holidays.
In CISS, after successfully complying with all the COVID-19 safety
regulations, we are absolutely proud of being able to receive our
kids with all guarantees.

Some of our students have not come to school since February,
so they need to get their adaptation period facilitated and
smoother. Therefore, from Kindergarten to Grade 5, our teachers,
gathering all their passion, dedication, time, professionalism,
experience, knowledge and creativity busily set up their
classrooms in order to create a homely and cozy environment.

As a result of this, welcome and ice-breaking activities in PYP
have been driven to get the new learners adapted, engaged and
warmed up for the hard work they have ahead. Class routines,
class rules, safety drills and some other procedures have been
discussed with and taught to them during the two first weeks.
A new school year is already rolling along with hopes, whishes
and fears, but this amazing, collaborative and supportive team
will overcome all the arising obstacles together.
